XIII Ways.. make way for #IV.

Continuing my version of the amazing book "13 Ways to Kill Your Community", here goes blog #4 - Don't Be A Cheerleader.

The Whole is Greater Than the Sum of its Parts: Why Ellsworth County Rocks When We Work Together

As we dive into a weekend packed with marketing and community activities, it’s the perfect time to highlight why working together is so crucial. With events like Lemonade Day, Cowtown Days, and our vibrant downtown celebration, we have the ultimate opportunity to showcase how powerful our collective efforts can be. So, let’s explore why the whole is truly greater than the sum of its parts in Ellsworth County.

The Power of Togetherness

Let’s break it down. Imagine you’re trying to put together a puzzle, but you’re missing a few pieces. Frustrating, right? Well, our community is kind of like that puzzle. When every piece (that’s you, me, and all our local businesses and organizations) fits together, we create a beautiful picture of success. When we support each other, we not only boost our local economy but also create a place where everyone wants to be.

Success Breeds Success

Here's a fun fact: success is contagious. When one business thrives, it creates a ripple effect. More successes mean more amenities, lower tax burdens, and fewer reasons to leave town to find what you need. Picture this: you no longer have to drive an hour for your favorite latte or that perfect gift. It’s all right here in Ellsworth County! We NEED everyone to succeed in order to built collective greatness, so let's put on our cheerleader uniform and help!

The Negativity Trap

But let’s address the elephant in the room. Why are we so quick to comment on the negative? A bad meal? Everyone knows. A store closing due to workforce challenges? It’s the talk of the town. But when something amazing happens, where’s the fanfare? Why aren’t we flooding social media with posts about the great things happening around us?

Share the Love

And here’s another pet peeve: why do we only post about the things that directly apply to us? Let’s take Cowtown Days and Grow Ellsworth County’s epic collaboration as an example. A downtown celebration with Lemonade Day and a weekend packed with park activities – it’s a dream team event! Notice how we share everything from the other party? Why? Because more marketing means more people, and more people means more success for everyone. So when you see a post about an upcoming event, special, or other positive moment, let's be just as quick to hit the share button as we are to be keyboard warriors when something doesn't quite go our way.

Be the Cheerleader

So, let’s make a pact. Let’s be each other’s cheerleaders. Let’s share not just the parts that apply to us but the whole shebang. When we promote all the amazing activities and events happening in our community, we attract more people, more businesses, and more opportunities. And let’s face it, more success means more reasons to celebrate!

Final Thoughts

At the end of the day, it’s all about working together for the greater good. A community that lifts each other up is a community that thrives. So, let’s spread the positivity, share the love, and create a place where everyone can succeed. Because when Ellsworth County wins, we all win.

So, next time you see something great happening, don’t just scroll past. Hit that share button, drop a comment, and let’s show the world what makes Ellsworth County the best place to be. Because, my friends, the whole is truly greater than the sum of its parts.

Stay awesome, Ellsworth County!
